1980 – 2020: looking back over 40 years of history

At the end of the 1970s, the de Moustier family decided to transform the Val de Bonnal estate (formerly a sandpit and farm) into a tourist site to create a top-of-the-range campsite on the banks of the river Ognon. At the time, the idea seemed curious, and its initiators a bit of outsiders… but nothing could stop them! This audacious project will require two years of intense work before welcoming its first customers in 1980.

40 years later… we are more present than ever on the local tourist scene.
Through hard work and passion, the campsite has developed over the years, always with the desire in mind to modernise and develop the concept. Only one thing has not changed: the family spirit that reigns on the estate. The spirit of our family, but also of the holidaymakers whose caravans criss-cross our paths, of the partners who are always loyal to us, of the employees who work hard during the summer to keep this place alive, and of all those who share this adventure each season. More than a holiday resort, the Val de Bonnal has been creating memories for 40 years.

It’s not every day you turn 40! So come and celebrate with us throughout this special anniversary season full of surprises, conviviality and emotions.
Especially on Friday, July 10th, an exceptional evening awaits you in the Val de Bonnal. Campers and guests from the professional world will meet together around a franco-comtois cocktail to celebrate this anniversary.
UPDATE CORONAVIRUS : as gatherings are not allowed in France during the summer of 2020, the event of July 10th is unfortunately cancelled.  

What about the next 40 years?

Living with the times is the credo of the Val de Bonnal. In 40 years, consumer habits have changed, regulatory constraints have become stricter, and the campsite has always remained attentive to these changes to offer authentic but comfortable, relaxing but convivial holidays, with the family but in complete safety for the youngest… Today it is nature that seems to be calling us. This nature to whom we owe everything, to whom we owe this exceptional area of water and greenery, this place of purity and serenity. We wish to do our best, on our own scale, to preserve it. We are committed to implementing practices more respectful of the environment, without losing sight of our ultimate goal: to offer our campers a dream holiday in Franche-Comté.
