This summer, one of the world’s biggest sporting events will be taking the Franche-Comté region by storm: the 2026 Tour de France will pass close to the Camping du Val de Bonnal during the Dole → Belfort stage, scheduled for 17 July 2026.

A unique opportunity for holidaymakers to experience the incredible atmosphere of the Grande Boucle whilst enjoying a relaxing, nature-filled break by the water’s edge.

An exceptional stage in the heart of Franche-Comté

Every year, the Tour de France attracts thousands of spectators who come to cheer on the riders in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

During this stage, the cyclists will pass through several towns in the region, notably around Cubrial and the Bonnal area.

Where can you watch the Tour near the campsite?

From the Camping du Val de Bonnal, several vantage points are within easy reach by car or bike. The roads around Cubrial and the neighbouring villages offer lovely spots from which to watch the peloton in a setting typical of the Franche-Comté region.

You could also head to Rougemont, a slightly livelier area with easily accessible roads and several bends where you can watch the riders pass at a slower pace. The Ognon Valley also offers some lovely vantage points, particularly between Bonnal and the surrounding villages, where the roads run alongside the river in a natural setting.

Another interesting option is the Villersexel area, a little further afield but often a strategic point on the routes, with short climbs and ideal spots for watching breakaways.

Finally, for those staying in the immediate vicinity, the roads between Bonnal, Chassey-les-Montbozon and the neighbouring villages offer simple yet effective vantage points, with a very local atmosphere and little traffic – perfect for enjoying the peloton’s passage through the heart of Franche-Comté’s iconic landscapes.
